In order to grow our work in Burundi, we recently developed a concept note which was approved for the next stage of application. We have been invited by the EC to submit a full proposal which needs to be submitted in French. We therefore need the services of a consultant/s to carry out a translation into French from English of a very high quality in time for submission.

The final English version of the narrative document to be translated will be approximately 35 pages in length – including some tables and an action plan chart. The main thematic area of the proposal is supporting Burundian female entrepreneurs to contribute towards women’s empowerment.

Interested candidates must have:

  • Demonstrable previous experience in undertaking translation of lengthy technical documents from English to French
  • A good understanding of international development work/context
  • A good understanding of technical language pertaining to the international development/peacebuilding/women’s empowerment sector
  • A good understanding of the communication style of a not-for-profit organisation (ideally an international NGO)
  • Prior experience of preparing a document for institutional donors (especially the EC/EuropeAid) highly desirable
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines and produce high quality deliverables on time
