Seefar is recruiting for an Ethical Recruitment Program Manager to lead Seefar’s migrant worker projects and services. You will be working on some of the most important and complex issues of our time, including migration, modern slavery, supply chains and livelihoods. In this role, you will manage and grow TERA, Seefar’s ethical recruitment agency that helps workers benefit from safe migration. Your responsibilities will range from business and service development to project management, research and business operations. You will have strong entrepreneurial and problem-solving skills; bring excellent team leadership and communication skills; and have an orientation towards social impact and sustainability. You can be based anywhere in the world and must be fluent in English. You will have the opportunity to travel. This is a full-time position for an initial 12 months.

As the Ethical Recruitment Program Manager you will lead Seefar’s ethical recruitment services aimed at helping people to benefit from safe migration. You will advance Seefar’s progress towards transforming the overseas labor recruitment industry by demonstrating that ethical recruitment benefits businesses and workers alike. We are looking for someone with:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, or service development.
  • Leadership skills; you have a knack for leading diverse teams to solve complex problems;
  • A social impact orientation, with experience working on issues of migration, forced labor, modern slavery or related themes preferrred;
  • Skills and experience in the following areas: business development (commercial and non-profit), service development & delivery, project management, research, finance, operations.
  • Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to write and speak to a variety of audiences.
  • Effective prioritisation, organisation, and self-management skills; the ideal candidate acts like the CEO of their responsibilities.

Responsibilities

The following are the primary responsibilities of the role, with estimated allocations of time and attention.

LEAD: PROGRAM AND SERVICE DEVELOPMENT

Approximately 40% of your time and attention:

  • Develop and grow Seefar’s suite of ethical recruitment services, including;
    • End-to-end overseas recruitment in accordance with international standards;
    • Worker monitoring, screening, engagement and training;
    • Safe migration awareness-raising in communities of origin;
    • Expert consulting for commercial, nonprofit and government clients
  • Streamline TERA’s current business processes to increase quality and efficiency while cutting costs;
  • Travel to meet with donors, research opportunities, and visit program locations;
  • Secure new business opportunities for TERA from nonprofit, government and commercial partners by:
    • Networking, forming new relationships, and sourcing opportunities;
    • Developing proposals, liaising with partners, and negotiating agreements;
    • Representing TERA and Seefar externally and to diverse audiences.
  • Work collaboratively across the Enterprise to identify and support opportunities to expand Seefar’s ethical recruitment program into new geographies and sectors;
  • Serve as Seefar’s senior expert on migrant worker recruitment.

DELIVER: PROJECT AND SERVICE MANAGEMENT

Approximately 40% of your time and attention:

  • Responsible for end-to-end management of Seefar’s portfolio of ethical recruitment grants and projects, including:
    • People management: Supervise 3-5 direct reports and remotely manage local teams, including TERA’s recruitment agency in India, to deliver projects and services. Hire and direct personnel as needed to achieve project objectives.
    • Delivery: Ensuring key project, research, and ethical recruitment deliverables are completed to specification and on time;
    • Quality: Being the final quality assurance for all services and project deliverables;
    • Finance & compliance: Accurate financial reporting and adherence to client due diligence and compliance requirements;
    • Other grant management tasks, including work planning, reporting, monitoring & evaluation, presentations, attending trainings, and similar.
  • Seeking and implementing advice and feedback from advisors at Seefar to ensure robust project performance
  • Manage donors and client relationships.
  • Other tasks as required.

DELIVER: BUSINESS OPERATIONS

Approximately 20% of your time and attention:

  • In close coordination with Seefar’s Entity Management Team, ensure legal compliance in countries where TERA is operational, including;
    • Accounting, taxes, and filings;
    • Banking and financial compliance;
    • Business registration, office requirements, and legal formalities;
    • Recruitment licensing and formalities;
    • Other compliance, including managing local Directors
  • Hire and/or manage consultants as needed to ensure effective business operations.
  • Ensure appropriate risk management in line with Seefar’s corporate policies;
  • Adhere to finance, operations, safety, and HR procedures.
  • Other tasks as required

An Excellent Candidate

To excel in this role, you will have at least 3-5 years of entrepreneurship, innovation, or service development experience. You have professional experience leading diverse teams and solving complex problems. You will have a relevant graduate degree and bring a mix of skills and experience in service development & delivery, business development, project management, research, finance, operations, and strategy. You have exceptional written and spoken English communication skills. A working knowledge of a second language is desirable (particularly Arabic or Hindi).

Previous experience working on Seefar’s themes is preferred but not required. You will be highly organised and productive and have the ability to prioritise your work. You will be motivated to work for an Enterprise that is focused on achieving social impact.

Requirements

  3. A Masters degree (or undergraduate degree with two additional years of relevant experience)
  4. Excellent leadership, analytical, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and communication skills
  5. Complete fluency in oral and written English and excellent communication skills.
