Background Information – Job-specific

We are seeking consultants to become part of the Organizational Design Roster. Consultants will work under the guidance of subject matter experts in PCG and support us on a range of projects, contributing to the People Stream and the Change Stream, with a particular focus on producing deliverables and coordinating activities involved in:

  • Organizational structure reviews and (re)design initiatives
  • Job design
  • Managing change for organizational restructuring implementation
  • Evolving/updating the internal organizational design frameworks
  • Implementation of a variety of strategic HR projects, particularly with links to the talent management space

The assignments will vary in scope and duration – ranging from short term assignments of a few hours at a time to longer blocks of time (e.g. several months full time, up to a year). Work may also vary with regards to the time zone / location. Whilst most assignments can be delivered working from home, some may require presence in Copenhagen and/or international travel on occasion. Whilst the consultants can be based in different time-zones, they should be able and willing to ensure a degree of time overlap with the team based in our HQ in Copenhagen and/or our internal clients based globally.

The remuneration will vary depending on the assignment and consultant’s location and will range from hour/day rate, though lump sum for specific deliverables, to a set monthly fee.

Candidates will be able to specify their location, time zone and availability preferences.

Functional competencies

1. Organizational Design function support From the perspective of linking organizational structure design, operational excellence and talent management (including performance management and leadership development) support the activities involved in:

  • Conducting organizational structure reviews, including coordinating and conducting as-is analysis, stakeholder engagement, creation of the optimized to-be designs (operating models, structure, roles and responsibilities, processes, ways of working etc.)
  • Capturing the current As-Is high level processes
  • Drafting organizational design recommendations
  • Partnering with the Analytics and Business Intelligence team, to business model different scenarios and conduct financial viability of recommended structure arrangements
  • Updating and maintaining UNOPS organizational structure framework and body of knowledge
  • Evolving the corporate job description library
  • Conducting job design
  • Support discrete phases of the organizational restructuring efforts, in line with best practice in solution design and change management implementation; this may include work planning and coordination, workshop design and facilitation, surveys, communications and engagement planning and support to delivery.**2. Provide support to the other strategic HR/Talent Management initiatives:**
  • Conduct research as required
  • Provide support for the analysis of business implications of policy/process changes.
  • In line with best practice in change management, support production of plans ensuring appropriate input is obtained and relevant stakeholders consulted/informed.
  • Help plan and coordinate change communication activities as part of the project implementation efforts.
