ICI is a Switzerland based non-profit foundation that works to ensure a better future for children in cocoa growing communities. It is a multi-stakeholder partnership advancing the elimination of child labour and forced labour by uniting the forces of the cocoa and chocolate industry, civil society, farming communities, governments, international organisations and donors. By 2025, ICI aims to have significantly contributed to the achievement of SDG 8.7 and the advancement of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in the cocoa sector.

To achieve this ambition, ICI’s 2021-2026 Strategy aims for a responsible cocoa supply-chain (where systems and services that responsibly and transparently prevent and remediate child labour and forced labour are strengthened, conjoined and scaled-up), working within a supportive enabling environment (where national and international policies and systems are conducive to change) as part of an integrated and coordinated multi-stakeholder effort. The achievement of these strategic objectives assumes a year-on-year increase in core and project funding, including through targeted fundraising dedicated explicitly to the prevention or remediation of child labour and forced labour and the upscaling of effective practices.

For this purpose, ICI is commissioning a scoping of possible fundraising opportunities to be further explored and implemented as of 2022.
