Summary of Key Functions: Health officer

· Support the implementation of the health components of the project;

· Support to strategic positioning and development of the Health components of the project;

· Support ERC contribution to policy action on community health, awareness raising and mental health support;

· Support communication and knowledge management.

Detailed Tasks:

· Ensure the implementation of the health component of the project against annual work-plan, targets, time-plans and result indicators;

· Develop internal monitoring and operational plans that help project implementation;

· Coordinate project-operations actions, including identifying appropriate implementation modalities, initiating procurement, grant and Human Resources actions, including formulation of ToRs and scopes of works, managing procurement and recruitment processes including selection, contract and grant management;

· Monitor field-based implementation of project activities, including providing guidance to area-based staff on field implementation and monitoring;

· Ensure timely and quality progress and financial reporting in line with agreed templates and schedules; review reports; provide feedback to ERC and partners;

· Provide inputs and feedback to reporting;

· Ensure systematic documentation and filing;

· Develop new health initiatives that are in line with the project strategy for using community health to strengthen social cohesion;

· Draft, or provide technical inputs and feedback to concept papers and proposals;

· Maintain regular interaction with national and local stakeholders with the objective collecting information on ongoing and planned activities.

· Regularly liaise with relevant government institutions, RCRC Partners, UN agencies, INGOs, NGOs and CSOs to understand ongoing policy initiatives and identify ERC potential role and contribution to policy initiatives;

· Support the development of initiatives and partnerships that facilitate knowledge-management on community health and psychosocial support and particularly, their linkages with social cohesion and peacebuilding;

· Represent ERC and the project in coordination and policy forums.

· Organize and facilitate training, information-sharing and knowledge-sharing events for fellow ERC personnel and partners on the initiative as thematic expert on health;

· Formulate case-studies and communication materials.

 

Related Jobs

 

Experience:

· Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the design, implementation and management of community health and development projects

· Experience in working with migrants and refugees;

· Experience building and maintaining partnerships with Government, other development partners and the private sector.

· Prior experience with RCRC is an asset.

Language Requirements:

· Written and oral fluency in English.

Skills:

· Respect deadlines and tasks as per quarterly micro-plans.

· Maintain good working relations to other organizations and departments in area of responsibility.

· Assure regular information exchange with supervisors and managers
