PCPM (https://pcpm.org.pl/en) is Poland’s leading development aid NGO with development and humanitarian programs in Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan and other countries of East Africa. In 2022, PCPM is working in Kenya (fire brigade training, rural development, health sector), Ethiopia (health sector, nutrition, humanitarian aid), South Sudan (nutrition), with new health, disaster management and humanitarian aid interventions planned in other African countries, including Tanzania, Uganda, Sudan and Madagascar.

Operating from PCPM’s Regional Office for East Africa, located in Kiambu (Kiambu County), the Program Officer – Monitoring / Fundraising will be working under the direct supervision of the PCPM Head of Mission, with the secondary reporting to the PCPM’s Media / Fundraising department in Poland. In incumbent will be responsible for:

1) Monitoring PCPM’s selected humanitarian and development aid programs, implemented in Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and other countries of East Africa;

2) Proactively seek donor funding for PCPM’s humanitarian and development aid programs in Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and other countries of East Africa;

3) In collaboration with the PCPM’s Media / Fundraising department in Poland, prepare reports and media materials in English on PCPM’s activities in the above-countries and results of PCPM’s humanitarian and development aid programs. This may include recording short videos, taking pictures and interviewing project beneficiaries;

4) In collaboration with PCPM management, identify new projects, prepare project proposals, actively fundraise with East Africa-based donors, facilitate regular reporting;

5) Conduct any other duties, as instructed by a direct supervisor.

Requirements:

1) University degree in relevant field or equivalent in job experience;

2) Excellent writing (in English), communication and observation skills (detail-oriented), ability to provide regular information updates to the central office and field staff

3) Prior working experience in humanitarian / development aid, fundraising, media and other related fields

4) Flexibility to conduct field missions up to 10-14 days per month.

Preferred skills and experience:

— experience in writing project proposals, project monitoring or related field,

– experience in international organizations, media and NGOs,

— experience in health or disaster risk reduction sectors,

– prior working experience in Ethiopia, South Sudan, Tanzania, and other East African countries,

– photography / video skills.

The incumbent will be expected to work from PCPM’s regional office in Kiambu (Kiambu County) with frequent travels abroad, averaging 7-10 days per month. The enumeration will comprise of base salary and per diem for business travel in Kenya and abroad. This is a full-time job. Contract until end of 2023 and renewable thereafter after successful completion of a 3-month probation period.
